Shrek, the big unattractive ogre, goes on a quest to rid his home of fairy tale creatures and rescue the princess, all while providing a great message - to focus on who you are as opposed to what society tells you to be. Newark Community High School’s spring musical Seussical the Musical is based on the children's book Horton Hears a Who written by Dr. Seuss with additional characters and scenes. The production is very energetic and entertaining, and is filled with reminders for us to "say what we mean and mean what we say". Seussical was performed in the spring of the 2012-2013 school year. Newark Community High School’s fall play Ricochet: Regret, Rewind, Redo was inspired by recent senior presentations on cyber bullying and relational aggression. The performance explores the menaces of aggression. From research, to casting roles and creating a script together, this play was an original production by NCHS Drama Club.
